Meet Our Team!

Dr Anna Benington, Medical Director

Dr. Anna Benington was born and raised in Orange County, CA. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Westmont College. After graduating, she pursued her veterinary degree in the land down under and earned a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Melbourne Australia in 2005. Dr Benington then returned to her native land and has been serving her Orange County community since 2006. Her special interests in veterinary medicine include: dermatology, internal medicine, and pain management. Outside of work, Dr Benington loves spending time being active with her husband, two boys, and their noodle brained, doodle, Lilah. Her other hobbies include running, working out, enjoying the beach, and cheering her kids on at their various sporting events. She looks forward to providing top notch, compassionate care, for all of her patients.

Dr. Jeffrey Hooykaas, DVM

Dr. Jeffrey Hooykaas was born in Long Beach, raised in Rossmoor, and now resides in Seal Beach with his wife, two daughters, and adored pets Cheeto & Roxy. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Aquatic Biology from UC Santa Barbara, and earned his doctorate at The Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He has enjoyed practicing at Corona Del Mar Animal Hospital for the past 11 years, and is excited to establish his own practice in the city of his residence. Dr. Hooykaas looks forward to being able to care for the pets of his family, community, neighbors, and friends.

When Dr. Hooykaas is not at work in the hospital, he is dedicated to going on adventures with his family, and frequents the beaches where he enjoys surfing. His other hobbies include snowboarding, fishing, scuba diving, swimming, and camping.

Dr. Hooykaas is eager to connect with you and your furry friends as if you are a part of his own family. He is committed to providing excellent medical care and advice by utilizing his knowledge, experience, and compassion for people and animals.

Madison

Hi! My name is Madison Primrose. I am an RVT and have been working at Seal Beach Animal Hospital for 1 year. I graduated from Tabor College with a Bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in psychology. I also graduated from Stanbridge University with an Associates degree in veterinary science. When I’m not working, I love spending time going to Pilates, country concerts and the beach.

Julia

Born and raised in Huntington Beach, California, Julia has been dedicated to working with animals for as long as she can remember. She enjoys spending her free time at the beach, volunteering at animal shelters, fostering dogs,and spending quality time with her beloved dog, Bronco. She is currently attending college with the goal of becoming a teacher but, her passion for animals remains a constant in her life.

Brittany has loved animals from a young age, she currently has her dog Kai a German Shorthaired Pointer. She graduated from CSULB with a degree in Biology-Zoology. She has worked in the veterinary industry for over 10 years. Be it cat or dog, four leg, tail or no tail she loves them all.

Hi, I'm Tanisha. I was born and raised in California and currently have an 18 year old fur baby. I’ve always loved being around animals and have been in the animal field for over 10yrs. I enjoy helping and caring for all the animal I come across.

Hi, I'm Sydney. I grew up in Long Beach and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology from ASU. Now that I am back I have started working at the vet I’ve brought my dog Italia to for years. When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family, friends and my pets as well as cheering for my favorite sports teams. I look forward to caring for your pets and meeting you all!

Ignacia is a pre-veterinarian student who loves being around animals big and small. She has been around animals all her life and has been working in the veterinarian field for 3 years. She’s always eager to learn and help out around our hospital. Her favorite things to do outside of work are hang out with her pups and spend time with family.

Natalie is a California native, but has lived in Oregon too. She has been an avid animal lover since she was young and has had multiple animals growing up. Natalie has been in the animal field for over 20 years. In her free time, she loves to go camping, hiking and watch her favorite hockey team, the Sharks!

Our Space

We are conveniently located in the center of the Seal Beach community, where many local clients will be able to walk to their appointments. The hospital design incorporates state-of-the-art medial equipment and specific design aspects that allow for exceptional animal treatment, observation, and safety. We hope to provide a feel-good environment that inspires and nurtures wellness in pets and humans alike, by utilizing a clean, odor free, and aesthetically pleasing interior space. The layout of the hospital provides a fear-free experience for our nervous pets.
